Have you ever experienced this? Or should i put it this way, How familiar is this situation to you?
A kid lend Rm 5.0 to his classmate, the supposedly his best friend type of classmate. The friend promised would return the Rm 5.0 to this kid who entrusted his money to the friendship the next day. The next day has come without any delay as the sun rise from the dark now, so the kid was expecting his friend to repay the debt(now, debt should not exist in a kid vocab)
A very huge deviation was seen as the friend did not mention, let alone hand back Rm 5.0 to this kid. Okay, Maybe he had forgotten, next day la.
The next day has come when his mum tear away a page from on calender. The kid went to school as usual and he saw his friend. No mentioning of the RM 5.0 also. Okay, is not abnormal if you forget again. Next day.
The next day has come again.
In class, now, again the same situation as you would have expected me to write it as. Yeah, no repayment of the debt.
Banker would have refer this as loan default already if you did not service ur debt. To a kid, maybe his friend has again failed to remember the promised Rm 5.0, a pay-me-back Rm 5.0.
A week has gone on, and today the kid who lend money away needed RM 2.0 for meal as he forgot to bring his own money.
Okie, he Borrowed from this friend Rm 2.0.
The next day, the friend demanded this kid who had utter faith in friendship for Rm 2.0. Suprised, the kid told his friend in a friendly way that it should be -Rm5.0 + Rm2.0 = -RM3.0, which means the friend who demanded the Rm2.0 from him was supposed to pay back RM 3.0 to this kid!
Then, like a dagger, the friend’s response was very naturally normal, he said:” what? I paid you back a week ago already what!!~~~”
End of story.
Hello, How often has you seen this scenario happened in real life?
i myself been through this shits of time and seen this shits of ppl on many occasions en route of my 25 yrs life.
But, whilst this experience might sometime caused ppl to face a paranoid behaviour of not trusting anyone else when it come to lending money away, some might even have worse outcome as they might begin to be paranoid to ppl, in all aspect!
Some might begin to swear to not let themselves being a lender or a borrower anymore, so that this kind of bad experience could be artificially avoided.
While i believe it is on no one wishlist to become a borrower, especially when it comes to money, but if you have faced the unwanted situation and made yourself a borrower, and more astonishingly, promised a repayment on the debt, what make you think that you have the right to delay the repayment?
“oh, a bit of delay wont caused him trouble cos is small money anyway”
” Oh, its okay, i still find it stretched to pay back”
” oH, he still has money with him, wont die”
” Oh, as long as i pay back later” ??
If one has the time and the resource to conduct or commission a research on this psychological face of the borrower behaviour, i really would love to see a thesis be written on this topic and i surely would read it few times to make sure myself will understand their situation and consider helping again.
